Readers and writers, do you know about Kindlegraph? It's a way that anyone with a Twitter account can get a signed eBook (so long as the author is registered). At first, I thought it was a waste of time. I mean, really, who wants a signed eBook? Well, quite a few people, it seems, and I'm totally hooked. It's great fun and I already have quite a collection of signed books. A bunch of us mystery and suspense writers at Not Your Usual Suspects had a signing party yesterday and it was brilliant. You can find out about it here.
While on the subject of eBook technology, I've had many emails from readers complaining that Shades of Evil is only available in Kindle format. I've been promised by my publisher that it will be available in formats for other eReaders but, as yet, I have no idea when. Some readers are getting around this problem by borrowing friends' Kindles. Nice one, yes? Others are downloading the free Kindle software and reading the book on their computers or iPhones. There is another solution to the problem of eBook formats, however, and that's Calibre. Calibre converts different formats to, um, different formats. All the information is here.
There's an interview with talented cozy crime writer Lesley Cookman on Monty and Rosie's blog. Even if you know all there is to know about Lesley, you really should check it out for the artwork. Beautiful!
If you write science fiction and you're looking for a good home for a novella, you could send it to Carina Press (awesome publisher). Submissions are wanted for the 2012 holiday collections. All the details are here.
I hope you enjoy the links!
So the weekend's here and, as there's no football to distract me, I'm planning on getting lots of reading time in. Do you have any recommendations? What's the best book you've read this year?
Have a great weekend!
