…to think spring was on the way? Lambs racing around the fields, yellow daffodils nodding their heads in the sunshine, and um, warm weather. No sign of it in Lancashire as yet. At least this damp, grey, windy, chilly weather is conducive to work. There's certainly no temptation to leave the desk and sit in the garden with a glass of something tasty.
I've had a good week though and the highlight came on Tuesday when I met up with a reader. Not any old reader, oh no. This particular reader came all the way from Australia to see me. It's lucky that she can also catch up with family and friends while she's in the UK, isn't it? Seriously, we had a lovely long natter and plenty of laughs over lunch and a very decent glass of wine. Ah, if only every day could be spent that way. So a big thank you to Janice for fitting me in and I hope the hire car got back safely - and with only the one dent…
So, plans for the weekend? At 12.45 pm tomorrow, I shall be watching Burnley FC take on Cardiff. Cardiff are the newly-promoted league leaders and Burnley have somehow found themselves in a relegation battle. I think we can all guess what the result will be but as the game's being televised by Sky and shown in practically every country known to man, I just hope it's not too humiliating. As I can't think further ahead than that, I've no idea what else I'll be doing.
What about you? Do you have exciting plans for the weekend? And has spring sprung in your corner of the world?
