I had a lovely day out yesterday when I met up with fellow members of the RNA for our (almost) monthly lunches. We were lucky enough to enjoy a fascinating talk by Lincolnshire-based saga writer, Margaret Dickinson. Needless to say, we also enjoyed our usual lively discussions about the publishing world. A special shout must go out to fellow mystery author, Frances Brody, who was celebrating publication day of Murder in the Afternoon.
Today, I'm back at the desk working on the idea for the fourth Dylan Scott mystery. I'm really enjoying that. I'm also still celebrating the release of the second in the series, Dead Silent, and today, I'm over at Talli Roland's wonderful blog. Do pop along if you get chance.
In other exciting news, author and all round lovely person D. J. Kirkby is giving away a Kindle. Yes, you read that right. D. J. Kirkby is giving away a Kindle. You can read all about it here.
So the weekend's upon us and I've saved myself a lovely job - not. I have to prepare my accounts for my accountant. This is for the 12 months April 2010 to April 2011 and, although I was very good for the first couple of months and updated my files weekly ... well, let's just say that my filing system consists of receipts, statements and scrawled notes shoved in a filing tray. Those that aren't in the filing tray will have fallen behind my desk. Remember, too, that I struggle to remember what was happening on Tuesday never mind 12 months ago. I foresee copious amounts of alcohol being consumed this weekend.
What about you? What wonderfully exciting plans do you have for the weekend? Go on, make me jealous...
