On Tuesday night, we drove through a light snow flurry to get to the football at Turf Moor (Burnley lost), and on Wednesday morning, I looked out of my window and saw real snow. Yes, snow. Just when I thought spring had sprung too. As we've had no sunshine since, there are still piles of the frozen stuff lying around. I love snow - really, I do - but not when I'm mentally geared up for spring. Thick coats and sweaters had been put away. Ah well…
On Thursday, I met up with fellow members of the RNA's northern chapter for lunch and writerly chat. We were given a fascinating talk on the subject of ebooks by indie author Linda Acaster. The most surprising thing to me was realising just how much the publishing world and ebooks have changed in the last two years.
Talking of ebooks, I saw that Where Petals Fall was selling more copies than other books in the Jill & Max series. I checked the Amazon site to see if they'd reduced the price, but no, it's still £2.74, the same as the others. Far better than the £12 - £18.99 that people had to pay for the hardback, but not exciting enough to account for extra sales. But - while on the Amazon site, I saw Dead Calm and Carina Press Presents: Editor's Choice Volume II on the site for pre-order. Woo-hoo! No cover images as yet, but great to see them there.
I spent Good Friday afternoon at the football (Burnley won!). I'd vowed to do some work in the evening but, alas, that came to nothing.
Today, I'm hoping to finally catch up on your blogs. Lots of you are doing the A-Z Challenge so I have a lot to catch up on. Are you doing the challenge? How are you getting on? Are you still worrying about Q, X and Z?
Tonight I'm going to see Wishbone Ash...
Have a wonderful Easter, everyone!
